Not looking for hosting?
Project work & consulting.
The plans above are for businesses that want a site looked after long term. If that's not you, there are other ways to work together.
Project rates. Need a one-off build, a redesign, a landing page or a brand refresh, and you'd rather host it yourself? I'll scope it, quote a fixed price before anything starts, and hand it over when it's done.
Hourly consulting. Want a second opinion on your site, help with SEO or analytics, or someone to sort out a specific problem? I'm available by the hour, with no ongoing commitment.
Tell me what you're after and I'll tell you which setup makes sense, even if the answer is one of these instead of a plan. Get in touch and I'll quote it.
The honest bit
How the rate works.
Worth being straight about this, because it's the part most studios are vague on.
An agency will quote you a big fee up front to design a site, hand it over, and leave you to host and maintain it. That's a real barrier if you're a small business, and it's why so many end up on a template they hate.
I don't charge an upfront design fee. The build, the hosting and the upkeep are all covered by the rate every 4 weeks. That only works because it's an ongoing arrangement: the site is part of a service rather than a one-off product you buy outright.
And if you change your mind, there's a way out. The contract includes a provision to buy your website outright. If you decide down the line you'd rather own it and take it elsewhere, you can. Ask and I'll quote it. You're not trapped, you're just not paying for it all up front.

There's really no upfront design fee?
Correct. You don't pay anything up front to have the site designed and built. It's covered by the rate, along with hosting and maintenance. The trade is that it's an ongoing arrangement rather than a one-off purchase.
What if I want to own the site outright?
There's a buyout provision in the contract. If you decide you'd rather take the website and run it yourself, or move it to someone else, you can. Get in touch and I'll quote the buyout. It's a real option, not a technicality.
Can I make changes myself?
Yes. Every site comes with a simple admin panel, and it can have whatever you need added to it: opening hours, upcoming events, prices, staff, and more. It's built to be as easy as possible to use, and changes go live immediately.
What counts as an “update”?
Any change you request to the site: new pages, layout changes, new sections, seasonal redesigns. On the $150 plan updates are billed hourly, quoted before I start. On the $350 plan they're unlimited. Send them over and they get done.
What happens if the site goes down?
Uptime is over 99.9%, and if the site does go down I find out immediately through monitoring and get on it right away. Fixing it is included, with no separate support charge and no ticket queue.
How long does a site take?
I can usually get a first draft out in a few days, and revisions go quickly as long as you're quick with your feedback.
Who do you work with?
Everybody. Small businesses, independent artists, clubs and organizations, and anyone else who needs a site that looks good and is looked after.
Do you only work with local businesses?
No. I'm based in New Hampshire, but the work happens over email and calls, so location has never been the limiting factor. Past clients run from Massachusetts to California.
Why every 4 weeks instead of once a month?
It keeps the billing cycle consistent: every invoice covers exactly four weeks, so a short month never means a short service period. Your billing date shifts slightly through the year as a result.
